Cowboys and Wild West Indians

On the very hot day of June 12, the equally hot annual Wild Western Festival was held for the fifth time in the Mozhaisk District of the Moscow Region on the territory of the Outpost equestrian base. This year, the venue for the event was launched for the tribes of the Indians with their master classes and for cowboys with their endless leaps, seducing girls, catching mustangs and fun cowboy dances on the Saloon stage.

In the morning, a “children’s town” began to work for young guests, where they were able to see pony club performances, participate in various competitions, and ride horses and ponies. For many children and their parents this sunny day has become unforgettable. Children ran after a tribe of Indians, climbed on the hayloft and played cowboys, and also admired cute animals: llamas, geese, horses and ponies.

Indians invited adults to participate in competitions. The famous Indian Egor, nicknamed Inshala, who translated into Russian – “The Lone Warrior” this time trained to shoot from a bow, throw an ax at a target, and also roll people on an Indian boat. Nothing has changed in his life. He still feels good and cheerful. He is glad that this occupation is not just a hobby, to which he returns from time to time, but also an interesting thing.

Other Indians took memorable pictures with everyone who wanted to take a picture. In order to communicate with the Indians and learn about their culture, many people flocked. The Indians believe that if a woman touches a man, then she makes him understand that she offers herself. It was especially interesting to watch at this moment young boys and girls who began to exchange glances with each other. Many also became acquainted with the basics of the life of Indians, climbed into wigwams and enjoyed the atmosphere of the Wild West.

The main part of the holiday was the contest “Top Model in Western style”. The girls had to compete for the main prize – recognition of the beauty among the competent jury, which included Alexei Kulichkov, Vadim Kolganov, festival director Evgeni Mishin and many others. Spectators watched the contestants and rodeos among the contestants and the jury. It was not so easy to throw a lasso at desperate stallions. Therefore, excitement and fear burned in the eyes of the surrounding audience, catching all the events to the smallest detail. The competition among the jury was won by Vadim Kolganov, who deftly drove an Indian desperate on a horse and caught him with his strong lasso.

Between the case, Evgeni Mishin showed dangerous tricks with a scourge tearing a rose out of the hands of the last two contestants of the contest, tearing into a few pieces an ordinary sheet of paper from the hands of a kid Cowboy; and many other things from the list of funny “cowboys” were made by this brave cowboy.

An outpost is not only a ranch where they hold Western-style festivals on the theme of the Wild West, Miss contests and various events, but it is also a place that transforms depending on the season. In summer, there is a horse ranch with desperate cowboys, in the fall – a gypsy camp, and in winter – hunting for wild animals.

The director of the Outpost ranch, Eugene Matuzov, told Anastasia Flag in details about this type of vacation:

– In the summer we prefer to organize events in the style of the Wild West. In the fall, we set off as nomads in the surrounding fields in cabins with a gypsy camp. And in the winter we completely go hunting with greyhounds. In fact, our base is a transformer. Now we are in the “Wild West”, we see the inscription “Saloon”, we see this sand …. When you leave here in a few hours, you will have a clear feeling that you have been to the Wild West. And if you come here in winter, you will not see the Saloon sign and there will be no hint of the Wild West. You will see the estate of the 19th century. Because for the role-playing tourism that we do, the details are not important. We are not designers to revive everything to the smallest detail. We create an atmosphere. Anyone can go to the “time machine” a hundred years ago and find himself on another continent.

What does your team live with? How do guys come to you and become cowboys, gypsies, Indians?

– We have good instructor schools. We take thirteen year olds from disastrous surroundings. They just need to be pulled out of this world in time. They go to physical training with us, they practice with a choreographer, a psychologist. And what else to do to the thirteen-year-old guy in Mozhaysk? Never mind. When the guys grow up, many come up with their own programs, organize interesting events.
A person is formed up to sixteen years old, later it is not worth giving to us. We are creating the ground, the so-called bridgehead, so that he can understand whether riding is suitable for him or not, whether he wants to play cowboy or not. Someone comes and stays forever: there are very few people who do not do this. In general, they love us, they think that we have a good place.
