Cowboys worked on the ranchers of livestock producers and were engaged in detour of the ranch territory, repairing fences, searching for cows strayed from the herd, marking young and many others. At first, pastures in the West were not fenced, and very often the livestock of different owners mixed and grazed together. Therefore, every year it was necessary to produce pens and cattle. Participation in such a corral demanded from the cowboy considerable skill and it was from the annual corrals that the rodeo cowboys’ favorite entertainment grew. Continue reading
The word “cowboy” is fixed in English since 1725. It meant the rider hired to watch over the herd. During the time of the American Revolution (1775–1783), the word sounded offensive – this is how people who took the side of England were called.

Not ignored by the sculptors and horses, the main assistants of the cowboys. Particularly impressive is the spectacle of the “Blue Mustang”, a giant figure of 32 feet high and weighing 4,000 kg, climbed on its hind legs to look at passengers arriving at Denver International Airport. But the largest sculptural composition in the world (and not only cowboy), is installed in Dallas, at Pioneer Plaza. On the very spot where the cattle drove once stood, driving thousands of herds from east to west.
